The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta proudly present solo violin concert by Maestro Domenico Nordio on 7 March 2018 at 19.00 at the Gedung Kesenian, Jakarta.

Domenico Nordio is one of the most acclaimed contemporary musicians of our time. He has performed in the most prestigious theatres in the world (Carnegie Hall in New York, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Teatro la Scala di Milano, Barbican Center in London) with equally famous orchestras such as London Symphony, the National orchestra of France, l’Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Roma, l'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

Born in Venice in 1971, he became pupil of Corrado Romano and Michèle Auclair thanks to his innate qualities and at the age of sixteen, won the “Viotti” International Competition with the legendary Yehudi Menuhin as president of the jury.

The magnificent performances at the Thibaud Competition in Paris and at the Eurovision Young Musicians in Amsterdam gave him great popularity and raised him up in the Olympus of the best contemporary musicians.

During his last international tours he has been protagonist of great performances at the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, at the Auditorium of Milan and also in Amsterdam, Bucharest, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Mexico City, Montevideo and Caracas.

The concert in Jakarta will be the first one of his Asian tournée, that includes cities such as Tokyo and Hong Kong. For the occasion, the musician of Piove di Sacco will delight the audience with music from Say, Bach and Petrassi.
