Exhibition: Leonardo Opera Omnia

To mark the 500th anniversary of the demise of the Renaissance Master, Leonardo da Vinci,

the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta

present the travelling exhibition

“Leonardo Opera Omnia”

produced by RAI Com and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Leonardo Da Vinci features among the most influential and revered artists in history.

Extremely eclectic, with his interests ranging from science, music, mathematics and literature to drawing, painting, sculpture and architecture, he embodied the perfect example of the versatile Renaissance intellectual.

He made substantial discoveries in the field of anatomy, hydrodynamics, optics and civil engineering.

The “Leonardo Opera Omnia” project displays seventeen extremely high-definition and true-to-scale reproductions of Leonardo’s masterpieces, found in museums throughout the world. Among his most renowned paintings, all made through

a deep understanding of the human body and the mixture of light and shade, two masterpieces must be quoted:

the first is the work in which he reversed all the studies and discoveries made through the years: the Last Supper.

The second is as famous as the first: the Mona Lisa or, as it is widely called, La Gioconda,

which is said to be the most famous painting in the world.

The Exhibition, curated by Prof. Antonio Paolucci, one of the most prominent experts of modern art in Italy,

is open to the public from Thursday 6 February until Tuesday 3 March 2020.
