The sixth edition of the World Week of Italian Cuisine will be opened with two consecutive events. The first one is an online conference in collaboration with the Casa Artusi Foundation, the very first centre of gastronomic culture to be established, devoted entirely to Italian home cookery.
The conference entitled “The language of cooking. Dante, pasta and Artusi” is created by the cuisine experts of Casa Artusi in collaboration with Monica Alba and Giovanna Frosini from Accademia della Crusca, a Florence-based society of scholars of Italian linguistics and philology. It is one of the most important research institutions of the Italian language, as well as the oldest linguistic academy in the world.
The conference is held in Italian with English simultaneous translation.

The conference is followed by the inauguration of the exhibition “The History of Spaghetti with tomato sauce,” created by the Casa Artusi Foundation. The exhibition tells the history of this Italian excellent dish, with texts by Massimo Montanari, an italian expert of food history and extraordinary watercolour illustrations by the artist, Luciano Ragozzino.

Teaser video launching: Slow Food, Slow Travel

To enhance the values of enogastronomic traditions of Italian regions and territories and to promote tourism, we present a series of videos, created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with Slow Food. These four videos, featuring selected restaurants in four regions in Italy, give an illustration of “Slow Travel” model, which aims to develop tourist routes and services based on promotion of local gastronomic, agriculture and cultural biodiversity. The regions selected are Tuscany, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna and Campania.

A cooking webinar held in collaboration with Casa Artusi Foundation, live in streaming from Forlimpopoli with chef from Casa Artusi.
Tomato (pomodoro) is the main protagonist of the day, still in conjunction with the ongoing exhibition about the spaghetti al pomodoro, and on this occasion Casa Artusi reveals the authentic recipe of this dish while narrating the historical-cultural role of the italian pasta in the history, on the table from southern to northern Italy.

The webinar is open for public, but addressed specially for the participants of the cooking competition as this will be the opportunity for them to see and learn about the dish that they need to prepare for the competition.

The webinar is held in English with Indonesian simultaneous translation.
