After the death of the concurring pope, the long process of electing a new one begins. The conclave procession result falls on Cardinal Melville. But at the moment of the official announcement, the gathering audiences in St. Peter’s Square wait in vain. After uttering a terrible howl of fear, the Cardinal refuses the office. The officials do everything to try to reason with Melville, including a psychoanalyst, appointed by the Vatican… Do we really have a Pope?
