1001 Martian Homes by Tintin Wulia
The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute Jakarta actively supports the participation of Indonesia in the Pavilion Indonesia featuring Tintin Wulia, together with Badan Ekonomi Kreatif Indonesia. The 57th International Art Exhibition, titled VIVA ARTE VIVA and curated by Christine Macel, will be open to the public in Italy, from Saturday 13 May to Sunday 26 November 2017 at the Giardini and Arsenale venues.
The Indonesian Pavilion, entitled 1001 Martian Homes is located in Arsenale. 1001 Martian Homes takes place simultaneously, across continents, in two separate exhibition sites—the Indonesian Pavilion at Biennale Arte 2017, Venezia, and Senayan City in Jakarta, Indonesia. These two sites—each almost identical in design and layout—are interconnected, as are the project’s three pairs of twin works: Not Alone, Under the Sun, and the eponymous A Thousand and One Martian Homes.
